Just south of the Scottish border is the very beautiful county of Northumberland. It is the northernmost part of England and is home to the quaint town of Alnwick. For a fairly small town there are so many lovely things to do and see here, especially in the summer months.
This is quickly becoming one of my favourite posts to write on Edits of Jo. I will never get over the excitement of getting film developed and seeing how my shots have turned out and that beautiful vintage, faded look to the photographs that is so reminiscent of my childhood. This post is actually a combination of both film and digital photos.
One of the best things about London is that it’s so well connected. From Edinburgh you can catch a fast train that gets you to London in just four and a half hours, which does work out slightly quicker than flying and is the perfect opportunity to get stuck into a good old book and catch up on the odd email or two.
Bristol is a city that will forever be very close to my heart. I spent some of the best years of my life there at university, making close friends, finding myself and falling in love. It’s a great, bustling place to visit for a long weekend – there’s plenty to do and see and is a really beautiful city (especially when the sun is shining).
Since moving to Edinburgh I really try to support indie shops wherever I can. I particularly like and try to support indie bookshops – there are some real gems scattered around Edinburgh that make for excellent browsing, especially on rainy days.
It is honestly astounding where the last three months have gone. It feels like just a couple of weeks ago since I was packing away the Christmas decorations and now the Easter holidays have been and gone too. As we are a third of the way through the year, I thought it would be a good to document some of my top art-related picks of 2018 so far!
There is something so lovely about having your friends come and stay – showing them the local sights and attractions and catching up over brunches and coffee stops. Last weekend, I had some of the Bristol uni crew come and spend the weekend with me and we managed to see quite a bit of Edinburgh, whilst still having a chance to catch-up and essentially watch the entire season of Queer Eye (an absolute must-watch if you haven’t already seen it!).
