Cascais is just a forty minute train journey from the centre of Lisbon but offers a lovely retreat from the hustle and bustle of a city vacation. With glistening sea views, clean sandy beaches and a lively port, it’s a great day-trip destination which takes minimal effort to get to from Lisbon.
Sintra is a picturesque Portuguese town that is set in the foothills of Portugal’s Sintra Mountains, near the capital, Lisbon. It is reputed as a place of royal sanctuary and is perhaps best known for it’s pine-covered, forested terrain, which is studded with pastel-colored villas and more notably, castle and palaces.
London was my home city for just over twenty-years and I always find something very comforting about it when I visit. I’m back! It’s been a while I know, but sometimes life just gets in a way, making it all together impossible to balance everything that’s going on. Looking back at my posts, my last Sunday Duvet Reading series was back in July (two ENTIRE months ago- how did this even happen?). Even though I am in complete denial that it is now October, I am hugely excited to crack the heating back on, snuggle up under a pile of blankets with a cup of tea, preferably English Breakfast, and get utterly lost in a good old book.
