    When the weather is warm and the sun is out (it does occasionally happen in Scotland), there’s is nothing better than spending the day at the seaside. Last weekend with the temperature soaring above 20 degrees, I headed to the gorgeous town of North Berwick, which is just under 40 minutes on the train from Edinburgh Waverley Station.

    Packing for a holiday whether that be a weekend trip, a city break or a week or two away in the sunshine, is one of my favourite things to do. The holiday shop (unless it involves shopping for a bikini or shorts) is one of the best shops of the year.

    Just over a year ago, my family spent a weekend away in the hugely picturesque Warwick. We took a long weekend off and slowly meandered our way up to Warwick from London via the Cotswolds. If you are thinking of taking a mini road trip to the Midlands, I would highly recommend these two places, particularly the Cotswolds if you are looking to explore quaint, typically English, villages.

    Just over an hour south of Edinburgh, across the border is the sleepy, coastal town of Alnmouth. With its own train station, it’s highly accessible from both London King’s Cross and Edinburgh Waverley and is just a stone’s throw away from other beautiful towns such an Alnwick and Warkworth.
