Last weekend, my parents came to visit me for the first time since I made the big move up to Scotland. Miraculously for a bank holiday weekend, the weather was fully cooperative and the sun shone for (almost) the entire weekend. Having never been further north than Sheffield, it was brilliant to show my parents my new home and city. We ticked a number of things of our ‘to-see’ list over the course of the weekend whilst still having time to catch up and relax together.
The Highlands of Scotland is such a vast area that it can be a little overwhelming trying to decide exactly where to visit. As we were staying in Kinlochleven and hadn’t visited the Highlands before, we made the decision to visit areas that were local to us.
Whilst travelling to New Zealand, South Africa and Asia are high on my travel wish list, there is something lovely about taking a short trip somewhere nearer to home. This week, we went on a mini road trip up to Glencoe in Fliss, the sturdy but not hugely reliable Ford. Miraculously, she survived the trip on some fairly bumpy and uneven roads and really was essential to our road-trip.
